Born and raised in Michigan, Laura received her bachelor’s degree in Business from Ferris State University. After graduation, she went on to serve proudly in the U.S. Army Human Resources Command, based at the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, Virginia. Ms. Lyon worked in the Office of the General for Enlisted Personnel as a Personnel Specialist/Corporal. During her time in the Army, Ms. Lyon had the privilege to support and interact with the highest echelons of the Army. She also had the unique and extraordinary opportunity to serve on special assignment to the United Nations in New York City, working in the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nation’s Office.
Upon leaving the military, Ms. Lyon remained in the Greater Washington DC area, working for a private company in two capacities – as an Executive Assistant and eventual Procurement Manager. Her procurement experience led her to new opportunities – first as a Procurement Manager with Pepperidge Farms, located in Norwalk, Connecticut, and then as a Senior Procurement Manager with Campbell Soup Company, based in Camden, New Jersey.
In 2009, Ms. Lyon made the leap to sunny Gilbert, AZ, supporting her longtime friend, fellow Army Veteran, and Owner of MIRACORP, Ms. Cynthia Miracle Reed, as Operations Manager. Now serving in the capacity of the Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Lyon guides MIRACORP efficiencies, provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls and efficiencies, administrative and reporting procedures, and personnel related program and systems in place to effectively grow the organization. Ms. Lyon also is actively involved in the company’s Business Development efforts, also integral to company growth.
